1Peter 3:5-6
For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands, like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.
If you will take time to look back in Genesis you will not find a perfect woman in Sarah but you will find one that was definitely blessed by God. Sarah had prayed for something that seemed so far reached that when God promised it to her she laughed. God had promised to Abraham that he would have as many descendants as there were stars in the sky, yet Sarah was barren.
Genesis 17:15-16 says: God also said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah. I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of people will come from her."
Wow! What a promise! It was a long-awaited promise fulfilled. Yet, God did not hold back. It was not done in the time Sarah and Abraham wanted but it was done in God's time.
We all have things we have prayed about that God has promised us. It can get frustrating if we don't see it in the time alloted. We can get bitter at God thinking He has forgotten about us. His promises are Yes, and Amen. The exciting part is that God said we are Sarah's daughters. That means we are under the same blessing.
Let us live as daughters of Sarah and stand believing God will fulfill what He has promised,in His time. God bless~
